The 12-Bar progression is used in many styles of music. If you are studying early rock styles or blues you need to know this chord progression like the back of your hand! (Not just guitar players.)
It is not just some expression blues guys use–make sure this is not just some vague concept you are sort of familiar with. If you plan on jamming on blues you will be lost without this.
